BMSO helps shoebox appeal
Broadstone Mill Shopping Outlet has recently started supplying unwanted shoe boxes to Norbury Parish Church Hazel Grove for their shoe box appeal.
The church has run the shoe box appeal for many years. It sends boxes via International Aid Trust, a humanitarian Christian organisation based in Preston. The shoe box team consists of volunteers and parishioners who decorate the boxes with bright Christmas paper. They then fill them with useful items and fun gifts. These include hand knitted hats, gloves, hand puppets, toiletries, school supplies.
The team, co-ordinated by church members, works throughout the year to supply items to fill up to 250 boxes. These are sent to children in eastern Europe, Africa and Asia.
They are very grateful to BMSO for providing suitably sized shoe boxes for their appeal.
